| How I fell in love with the Shih Tzu
It started in May 1989, we were going to get married in June that year, but just a few weeks before the wedding I saw a dog. I didn’t know yet what kind of dog it was. I saw the dog, and I fell in love, with his head, his hair, his walking, so solid and sturdy. I dreamed about the dog. Next day I said to my almost husband at that time: I dreamed about the dog, he said: me too. He also immediately said: I’m going to give the dog to you . So that was the beginning, we married June 16, in 1989, and that day our Gremley came to us. Unfortunately we had to let him go in August 2004 at age of 15,5! But every Shih born here will remind us of him, because of their breeding name. I don't like the name " kennel" because I think Shih Tzu is definitely not a kenneldog, they should grow in loving home environment! In 1991, our " kennel" started: from Gremley’s Home, dedicated to our first Shih Tzu. Some time later we started to go to the shows, and in that we found a wonderful hobby. We showed a lot with our Nino, with excellent results: European Youth Champion, Youth Winner, Clubchampion Shih Tzu Club, and Dutch Champion, and even at age of 12 Reserve Best Male on our Championclubmatch! Now he's finished and became Dutch Veteran Champion.. Then there was a little pause, our daughter Cheryl was born, and the spirit to show was gone. But not forever, it came back, with our: Lila, she became best puppy, at the Dutch Championship of the Shih Tzu Club, so a very good start. She finished her Dutch Championship, and she gave birth to 6 wonderfull babies, and 2 of them stayed here; Oo-La-Laa, and Only-You, they both finished their Dutch Championship, Oo-La-Laa at young age an impressive list of results at show: -Youth Winner, -BOB STG' 05 with 70 entries, -Clubwinner German Shih Tzu Club ' 05, -Landessieger Germany, -Dutch Champion, -Lots of times BOB ( listed in column shownews) -Bundessieger Germany, - Shih Tzu of The Year STCN, -2 x Reserve Best Male at Winner competition, we even showed him at Crufts in 2006, that was a lovely experience. Now we got our first Solid-Red's , Brother and Sister, Red-Ra-Fa & Red-Ra-Fi; English bloodlines combined with a bit of American Blood, we love the type they are. At the moment we live with 10 of our loved Shih's you can all read about them on their own pages. And the love towards the Shih-Tzu never dies, because we get so much love from them…….. Hope you feel the love and dedication towards our “flowers of life” |
